Creating a Better Future as Allegis Group Turns 35

Allegis Cares 35

July 2018 marked a major milestone for Allegis Group globally as it celebrates 35 years of service – and to mark the occasion we all got busy by getting stuck in with our community and charitable activities.

In honour of Allegis Group’s 35th anniversary on 14 July 2018, we celebrated our legacy of serving others by taking part in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities and events across EMEA.

This is a selection of some of the activities that have happened as a result of the #AllegisCares35 campaign:

London

In London, our Executive Leadership team hosted a ‘World of Work Day’ for students they had been mentoring in partnership with the Prince’s Trust. The team had been working with the students since February this year and as part of their final session, they invited them to our Broadgate Quarter office to give them insight into the work environment.

During the day, the students learnt about the different areas and teams that exist within Allegis Group EMEA through a series of presentations. They also got the opportunity to sit with our staff, as well as attend several workshops focused on CV writing and basic interview skills.

Overall, the students found it to be a useful day. It helped them to build their confidence while increasing their understanding of the world of work.

James Trant from The Prince’s Trust who joined the World of Work Day, said: “I thought the event was a valuable experience for the students. The visit was informative, interactive and engaging … and was definitely one of the best visits I have been to!”

Mainland Europe and Middle East

In our Mainland Europe and Middle East region, our offices continued their #JourneyIntoTheLight fundraising initiative in aid of the mental health charity: Mind.

The initiative was originated from our Dubai office who were inspired by the personal stories that were shared throughout Mental Health Awareness Week in May. As figures show that one in four of us will experience a mental health problem each year, they wanted to reflect the struggle that we all face in improving our mental health.

As such, they decided to complete their own ‘journey into the light’, which involves cycling the distance from Dubai to London (5,500km) using an exercise bike in the office. However, as they’re only a small office, they decided to invite the rest of the region to take part.

Since then, they have had some amazing contributions. Key highlights include a joint effort from our colleagues at The Stamford Group in Zurich, their leadership team and some standout performances from Marcus Magnusson, Account Director, Stockholm and Oliver Wilkinson, Director of Customer & Market Insight.

Support Leadership Team

The Support Leadership team took part in a CSR volunteering day which involved completing a garden makeover for a local women’s refuge.

Stockholm Office

Our Stockholm office got involved in a new CSR/fitness trend across Sweden – plogging! This sees people going for a jog while also doing their bit to help the environment by picking up litter. The whole office came together one afternoon where they shared videos on how plastic is impacting the environment and how we can help combat this. Everyone then headed outside where they jogged or walked and cleaned some of the streets of Stockholm and Rålambshovs Park at the same time. A really eco-friendly way to mark our 35th birthday!

Broadgate Quarter, London

Our Aston Carter team will be hosted their annual ‘Aston Carter Summer Rooftop Party’ at the end of July. All proceeds go to Macmillan Cancer Trust. Birmingham and TEKsystems will host similar summer parties with proceeds going to their chosen charities. The Aerotek Life Sciences team will be working with a local retirement home and taking part in activities with the residents.

Corporate Social Responsibility forms an important part of our working lives here in Allegis Group EMEA and we are extremely proud to hear about all the efforts of our people to support such worthy causes.
